The
courses of Italian are run exclusively on a one-to-one base and take into
consideration the individual needs of the student.
Because they are
individually run they enjoy an extreme flexibility in terms of location,
time availability and most importantly take into consideration the unique
individual interest of the learner, be it social, private or job related.
As we are dealing
with a tailored course that hardly fit any other student, the teaching
resources have to be worked out for each and every course. There are
obviously general reference books (we try hard to avoid those that are
heavy on a grammatical approach) for consultation, but the very soul of
the course is based on direct conversation on a communicative approach on
topics that solely concern the student's interest and motivation.
The course is split
up into 10 lesson packages renewable from time to time on a cyclical base
and independent one another, that is say the student wants to venture into
a level which is a step higher than the one he/she is at, he/she may well
try to have a go at it and see how he/she can cope, or simply switch back
to the previous level.
The
course makes large use of the audio visual media offered by the Web and
other sources graded according to the student's level of language
knowledge. The Use of a computer is fundamental as most of the teaching
resources used are on HD, CDs or DVDs.
Exercises are mainly centred around the audio-oral channel (speaking and
listening) whereas the written skills come in as a follow up activity
ensuing from what has been listening to before.
