LEGAL/FINANCIAL GLOSSARY
The expandable Glossary offered by our site has been made
thanks to the dedicated contribution of various legal translators over an
extended period of time. Our translators have freely accepted to help other
colleagues try solving their linguistic problems. The Legal Glossary has
been based on their actual hands-on experience on specific legal, juridical
and financial translations actually made by them.
We hasten to bring to your attention the fact that this is
not a typical glossary strictly speaking, that is to say a simple and
straight list of translated words. Aside from the classical list of single
translated words just mentioned, it also list syntagmatic structures (a
group of words bound together and ossified by tradition and use such as
pursuant to, my just and lawful debts, all and sundry, known all men by
these presents, etc. along with actual ‘shreds’ of fairly longish bits
of phrases with legal contents often encountered when dealing with juridical
or financial translations.
So don’t let yourself down if you wanted to translate
informiamo or si informa che and you’ll come up with
known all men by these presents that because that was the best way to
translate that word or expression in the specific context of a Power of
Attorney. In this case you have to either forward your research or consult
other tools.
We’d like to point you out that we are by no means held
responsible neither directly nor indirectly of possible mistakes, blunders,
omission, imprecision and the like contained in the
Legal Glossary, nor in any other piece of information supplied by our
site, though we are very grateful if you would like to suggest us
corrections, improvements on any of the aspects of this site, especially as
far as the Legal Glossary is concerned. We do thank you in advance for your
advice. All contributions, additions, integrations will always be checked by
our translators and handed over to our Site Master before your improvements
will become public, this is simply done for sake of keeping a high standard
of quality for this site.
